ZonePerfect® Greek Yogurt Bars

Today I am coming to you with a review for the Zone Perfect - Greek Yogurt Chocolate Bars. I just finished eating one of these about 5 minutes ago and I really enjoyed the bar. The best part of the bar was the yogurt finish. I thought it tasted so good, doesn't even taste like a health bar. It just tasted like a nice snack. I want to try another bar for sure. I don't exactly know where to get these as they were sent to me for consideration but I would definitely reccomend them. These bars provide 3 grams of fiber and 12 grams of protein.

I would love to take these in my bag for on the go as they are very filling. One complaint about these bars are they are NOT 7 allergy free. They are made in a facility that also processes egg, peanut, tree nuts, and wheat ingredients. They also contain soy and milk ingredients. That being as woman with celiac I usually don't completely avoid products that are processed in a facility with wheat because that would be so hard to find and honestly... I process wheat in my own house !! haha AKA my husband eats wheat. Always talk to your doctor about your own consumption of any allergens/wheat.

Overall, I'd give these zone perfect bars a B+ very yummy.

XOXO,

Mrs. Cinderella

Base Makeup - Foundation

After a huge seasonal haul from Sephora, I find myself here writing this blog post. After years of searching I've finally found my holy grail foundation products. Unfortunately, none of them are drugstore products.. they are expensive which makes me want to not purchase them as often. Even though they are holy grail products I am in constant search for cheaper dupes that do the same thing, because all of us want to save money!

Anyway, getting to my products..

1. I start with HourGlass - veil all over my face as a primer as well as SPF
2. Depending on how red my face is or how much time I have to get ready, I will buff and swirl Bare Minerals - multi-tasking concealer - broad spectrum SPF 20 bisque concealer all over my face. I have rosacea that makes me self conscious so this really helps me feel more confident, really decreasing the over all redness on my face. The bisque color matches my skin tone perfectly.
3. I follow this up with my Laura Mercier - Silk Creme foundation - rose ivory, using a kabuki brush to buff it into my skin. Recently, I've used less and less foundation, at this point just using a large pea sized amount and really taking the time to buff it in.
4. I finish with my HG under eye concealer - Clinique airbrush concealer 01 - fair.

All of this stuff didn't come in one order which is why I got so many samples. I got 2 birthday gifts because I placed an order online and then also went shopping with one of my besties in the store today. She was having a rough day so we just went on a huge shopping spree... she got a clinique mascara, laura mercier concealer, too faced liquid eye liner, and an urban decay setting spray.

MARCH FAVORITES!!

This month my favorites include some really special HG products. I have absolutely fallen in love with 2 products. One of them I had never heard of before going into Sephora.. and the other I'd heard folks rave about on youtube and other places.

1. Laura Mercier - Silk Cream Foundation (I'm the color Rose-Ivory)

This is my HG foundation. I have spent years, months, perhaps a decade going from foundation to foundation looking for the best foundation and I've found it. After purchasing the MUFE Mat Velvet Plus and it turning into looking like my face was a mess... I went into Sephora and asked the ladies to help me pick out something that would work. At first they recommended a Lancome foundation, but I don't know why.. I just didn't really want to try Lancome. So I asked about Laura Mercier ... with it in the back of my mind that Laura Mercier herself has rosacea. The girl tested it out on my skin and although I really couldn't tell if I'd like it or not (I had other makeup on) I decided to go for it and give it a try. At least if it didn't work I could go back to Sephora again and try something else.

Needless to say, I am in love. I have worn this foundation almost everyday since I bought it. It is definitley full coverage for sure so if you are looking for something with light to medium coverage this is not for you.. but if your like me and you have redness to cover up, this foundation is wonderful. I actually feel like my skin is in better condition because of the foundation. It feels comfortable when I put it on. I told Mr. Green that when I don't have my makeup on during the day my face feels hot.. so I don't know what's doing it .. but my face actually feels better.

Best foundation ever! 5 out of 5.. wouldn't want to go without. I will RUSH to the store when I run out of it.

2. Hourglass- Veil- Oil Free Primer

This solved my foundation issues. I will never go without this primer. Yes, I know it is expensive. In fact, it is SOOO expensive.. to the point where I bought the trial size first because I wanted to make sure that I was in love before I went and bought the full size. I am almost out of my trial size already, about a month .. and I just adore it. Not only does it make my face feel so smooth but it goes on beautifully. It helps take down the redness in my skin before I even put on my foundation. It really dulls the redness and helps my face look smoother overall. It fills in any pores that look bad and just smooths out my skin giving a nice clean slate to put makeup over. I also really love that this primer has SPF 15 in it because my Laura Mercier foundation doesn't have an SPF (which is my only complaint about the foundation). I adore this product. I will repurchase it most likely forever. I've always wanted to get to the point with my makeup that I had HG in every category of product so I didn't have to keep buying things and trying them. I really want to the that girl who doesn't have 100's of different things but has her 20 products that work amazing for her.... Okay I'll admit I'd probably sneak in a few seasonal lipsticks and nail polishes in once in a while too.. but as far as basics go.. I just want to have the things that work wonderfully for me in my makeup bag.

Best primer ever.. solved all my foundation looking splotchy/peeling off etc. Looks amazing on my skin. Will never be without it .. will RUSH to the store to get this. 5 out of 5.. can I give it a 6 out of 5? WORTH THE INVESTMENT!!!

3. Tarte - Brow Architect Brow Shaper : Liner and Definer

This came in a Tarte kit I purchased from QVC, I don't know if this brow product is in stores yet. last time I checked it wasn't, the only place you could purchase it from was in the QVC kit. I really like this little pencil because it has a highlighter, spooly shaper, and pencil. I brush my brows neatly, run a little bit of product through them, brush them again and done! I may then add a little bit of highlighter around them to clean up the edges and make my shadow look defined. Lately, I haven't been wearing very much eyeshadow though. I love this product because everything you could need for your brows is right there in one little pencil except tweezers! Unfortunately, mine us in my makeup bag and it broke in half. I am going to see if I can glue it... perhaps or tape it back together.

4 out of 5 for this eye brow pencil

4. Maybelline Volum' Express - The Rocket - Waterproof Mascara - Black

As ya'll know from reading my blog, I am not loyal to one brand of mascara. I like to try out a variety of brands, types, formula's.. etc. In fact, I sometimes prefer mascaras from the drug store over high end mascaras because I don't know how much more a mascara is going to do for you .. besides lengthen and volumize your lashes. I do know I like the waterproof version of mascara otherwise it slides off my lashes and onto my under-eyes which then look disgusting and black... I hate this! My eyes water too much for me not to use waterproof mascara.

I don't know if I'd buy this mascara again... only because I like to switch it up and it is not my HG mascara.. but it is a great mascara that does a good job lengthening and volumizing my lashes. The waterproof formula definitely holds in place. The tube is really cool, blue and shaped like a rocket.. the wand it big and pretty thick.. I sometimes prefer the thinner brushes otherwise I'll blink into the thick ones and it will touch my eye.. but I don't mind it too much.

3.5 out of 5 ... good quality, good price.. good product.

5. Revlon - Lip Butter - Cupcake

This has been my favorite lip butter that I purchased from Revlon for a long time. I probably bought it 6-8 months ago and have used it quite a bit. Then recently I noticed that bright lipsticks were in fashion so I pulled it off of my makeup wheel and threw it in my everyday on the go makeup bag. I've been wearing it quite a bit and I absolutely love it. It is so moisturizing, it feels like a really nice lip butter or lip balm.. but at the same time it's a beautiful blueish pink. Cupcake wears really well too, if you are wearing it and then drink coffee, talk on the phone, kiss your husband.. etc. it won't just come off and look nasty.. it will fade nicely and just not look as intense but at the same time feel nice on your lips.

I'm not sure if I'd repurchase this because I have so many lipsticks ... but what I will say is that I will and have purchased other Revlon lip butters. They are really a great formula and nice for the day time wear. Well worth the price. Get them at Walmart with a coupon and it's practically a steal.

5 out of 5

6. Tarte - Airbrush finish bamboo foundation brush

I'm not sure if I have talked about this foundation brush on my blog before or not but I have been using this foundation brush for years to apply my foundation. I have 2 of them ... I got them both in kits that I bought from QVC. The first one I got was at least 2 years ago and it's lasted for such a long time. I just wash it every so often with a little bit of baby shampoo and I'm good to go (I do spot clean VERY often). This brush is a very dense soft, almost velvety kubuki style brush. It really helps to blend in my foundation and makes it looks so beautiful, I agree the finish is almost airbrushed when you use this brush. I'm so happy to have 2.. I keep one on my vanity and the other in my everyday makeup bag. I just put a dab of foundation right onto the brush and then dot the foundation on my face and start to blend the foundation in circular motions. Flawless!! and it feels like your swirling the softest teddy bear's paw on your face.

5 out of 5 HG way to apply foundation !

7. Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12 hour blush - Fearless

First of all I love all of the Tarte blushes that I've tried. They are all beautiful a few of my favorites are exposed, fearless, and glisten. I especially like fearless because it really gives me the pop of pink on my cheeks I look for. I do not like coral/red blushes because IMO it makes my face look redder and goes back to making me look like I have rosacea which is what I am trying to avoid. I love the nice healthy pink look of this blush. There is a bit of glitter in it but it just looks like a nice highlight on the cheek. This would be a nice blush to add on top of a more neutral tone blush that you've perhaps contoured with a little bit like exposed.

4 out of 5.

So that's it for my favorites this month... a few products I'll mention that I've been enjoying using are Clear's Anti-dandruff shampoo in the purple bottle, Loreal's liquid eyeliner (the one in the gold package) and Treseme heat protectant spray (red cap).

#23 List your top 5 most loved hobbies and why you love them.

1. British Royal Family - Specifically, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
2. Makeup, Fashion & Shopping
3. TV Shows
4. Learning & Academia
5. Reading & Cooking

My interest in the royal family goes back as far as I can remember. I don't know why I love them so much or why I find them so fascinating but I know that I truly look up to The Duchess of Cambridge. I really think she is a beautiful, kind, loving person and she is my role model. I look up to her. I married a British man and into a British family and I feel like she did as well. I am a little bit younger than her, but we are close in age and going through some of the same life transitions albeit hers are much more glamourous than mine. We both are newlyweds, we both went to college around the same time, and we both will be new moms around the same time. I find the jewelry, clothes, and lifestyle to be fascinating. I guess in some ways it's an escape to a life that will never be. It's fun to think about how a real life princess's life is.

Makeup has been a fascination of mine ever since I was a young girl. I came and went with makeup when I had some health problems but I've always loved the process of putting it on and trying new things. When I was a young girl I remember thinking about all the steps of getting ready and putting my makeup on, doing my hair, picking out a nice outfit, etc. At this point feel as though I am on the hunt for holy grail (HG) products for a complete makeup kit. I have plenty of makeup, but I want to get to the point where I have everything I need for a complete face of makeup .. and it is all HG products. I have found some of these products but I am still on the search for others. I also like keeping up with the trends of the makeup and watching the new colors & collections come out. This goes in line with why I love fashion. Shopping is a part of my love for makeup. I love going and searching out the perfect item. I like to ask questions of the MUA artists selling the products but at the same time I love researching online and reading reviews.. and searching out good deals/coupon codes. I also enjoy watching makeup tutorials and I'm always down for a good old drug store hunt.. going around town looking for a limited edition lip stick or eyeshadow.

Fashion has always been fun for me. In particular I like looking for purses, accessories, and dresses. Recently I've combined 2 of my favorite hobbies together ... the royal family and fashion and I've been using the internet to search for clothes that The Duchess has worn that I can replicate for a decent price and in my size. I use pinterest and pin them to my "secret" board.. because I don't want them to sell out !! HAHA I would love to buy every single outfit ... but I'd be broke at that point. Fashion is fun because it is always evolving. I wouldn't always wear exactly what is on the runway but I enjoy making runway trends fit into my lifestyle and wardrobe.

Mr. Green and I have Netflix and we use it mostly to watch series of TV shows. Over the years we've watched Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, True Blood, Frasier, all of the Star Treks, Sex In The City, Sons of Anarchy, Mad Men, The Sopranos, Pretty Little Liars, and Arrested Development. I'm sure there is even more than I'm not thinking of. We love getting into a good TV show and watching it right the way through. Right now we are into Arrested Development and it is absolutely hysterical. We bond over the time we spend together watching these shows. I love a good TV show! ***Any recommendations, leave it for me in the comment box below, I'd love to hear what your addicted to!*** Getting into a good TV series is like an escape into another world. While we were watching Mad Men I even did my makeup like Betty Draper and I was cooking more at home.

I had to add learning and academia to my list of hobbies because as the years have gone on I have really grown into loving learning and school. I enjoy going to my current math class and learning how to do the work. I love taking notes, studying, researching and succeeding. I will admit that I do not like tests and that they stress me out and give me anxiety.. but overall the LEARNING aspect of academia is what I love. If I could stay in university in some capacity forever I would. I do plan on being involved with academic life as either a professor and/or student forever. I feel fulfilled when I am learning. I feel like I am doing something and being challenged. I tend to get bored and feel like my life is stagnant when I am not learning. Even if I am enjoying myself and keeping busy without the challenge of school and the structure of going to class and doing work and learning new things, I feel restless and bored. School helps me keep routine in my life and learning provides me with mental stimulation.

The last hobby I listed was cooking and reading. I listed both of these because it's a tie between them both and I think they kind of go hand in hand. Often times I will read recipes online or read cookbook. I enjoy reading old cookbooks from the 50's, 60's, 70's etc. I like trying new dinners. I don't enjoy baking as much as I enjoy cooking because with baking I know you have to use the exact amounts of things in order for it to turn out correctly. I like to cook and add amounts of ingredients based on eyeballing it and seeing what looks like enough.

Reading is fun because it's another escape to another world. I've loved getting into series of books and reading for months on end about a specific couple or world. For a while I was really into urban fantasy books... series like The Fever Series and The Bone & Cat series. In fact, currently I am listening to a book on tape (audible on my IPhone) that is kind of an urban fantasy book. I may review it when I am done listening to it. I know that it is a series and often times you know I've enjoyed the book if I immediately jump to the next book in the series.

Hope you've enjoyed this post, I know it is a long one!

XOXO,

Mrs. Cinderella

Here we go!

March 21, 2013

I'm going to start with question #25.

If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat?

Diana, Princess of Wales. The Princess was instantly easy for me to come up with, if the question was posed "if you could have dinner with anyone in the world, who would it be.. I would have answered HRH Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Anyway, the reason I would love to have dinner with Princess Diana because I find her life to be absolutely fascinating. Diana was a wonderful woman who really valued her work and loved her children deeply. I would hope the dinner could be a dinner between two friends (if we were friends!) where I was able to get an insight into her life as a royal, specifically as a Princess married to the next in line to the throne. I would ask her about her travels and love to know where her favorite places she went were. I would love to discuss fashion, jewelry and gems with her while in the same conversation discussing the important work she did with sick people and needy children. Princess Diana was loved in everyones hearts, I am dying to know how she felt about the role she had. She was a role model and many still look up to her today.

The second part of this question is, what would you eat. This part is easy, because I love tea and I would be having a meal with a British Princess we would have to have high tea instead of dinner. We would have special tea's, cucumber sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, scones, jam, and little desserts. We'd toast it with a nice glass of champagne.

.... So moving on to Mr. Green's answer... Da Vinci ... This was almost impossible for him to narrow it down to one person. He kept going back and forth and back and forth and asking questions about the question.. are they dead or alive? Do they speak English? ... etc. As far as food he said it would have to be something palatable to them both.. "I don't know, Italian... or could we do a buffet 5 star food from around the world ?"

This was a lot of fun. I may come back and do a couple more tonight.. to get ahead incase I fall behind as I want to get the questions done in a month.

Mrs. Cinderella

Sephora Haul

Hello Folks,

I have been makeup hauling like crazy lately, you'd think the makeup industry was going out of business or something.

Here's what I bought...

1. Soap & Glory - Hand Food

I tried the Soap and Glory body wash in the past and thought it smelled nice and fresh and moisturized my body pretty well. I was intrigued by this hand cream because it had marshmallow's in the little blurb on the bottle.. although after closer examination of the ingredient list I can't find marshmallow's listed. I honestly thought it would smell sweet, but it doesn't. The fragrance is very floral, similar to their other fragrances if you've tried them. I wouldn't recommend this as a HG very moisturizing hand cream for those of us with sensitive skin, but the packaging is cute and it's an okay product.

3 out of 5 stars.

**If your trying to find this at Sephora, you most likely will need to get it from Sephora.com as I checked multiple Sephora locations in my area and it was out of stock. They also don't have the small sample size on the website anymore, you can only get the 4.2 oz/ 125 ml tube. I believe this retails for $12.00. They have a little Hand Food/Hand Soap duo for $18.00 that seems like a better value.

2. Soap & Glory - Clean, Girls - Skin Softening Creamy Body Wash

In the past I tried the other Soap & Glory body wash (Clean on Me) and really enjoyed it. I liked the fragrance it was very flora and refreshing. I also enjoyed the formula it was creamy and comforting. That being said I didn't love the scent, it almost smelled too soapy for me.. which I know, I know, it is soap what do I expect. It almost smelled like Ivory, which don't get me wrong I love the smell of Ivory soap, but why would I go spending $16.00 on something that I could get for so much cheaper?

So I decided to try the Clean, Girls body wash was this time.. same adorable packaging and it looks to be the same formula. I love this scent it is much more fruity/flora. It is not just very floral it has a nice sweet fruity scent as well.

So far so good. 3.5 out of 5 stars I knocked a star off for the heavy fragrance. Some of these heavy scents really are not good for our skin and they dry it out/irritate it.

3. HourGlass- Veil Primer

This has an SPF of 15, and it really really helps to hold my makeup. I love it. I don't think I've ever tried such a nice primer/face product. I went into Sephora after having tried a foundation that totally bombed on my skin. I wore the foundation into the store to try and find out what happened and the MUA who was helping me recommended veil to me. I had never heard of the brand Hour Glass before, and asked her what brand this is comparable to and she said it is the Chanel or Dior equivalent of Tarte. I love Tarte especially because I have Celiac disease and really have been getting into the problems with non-nautal chemicals in products I put in/on my body.

I plan on posting an entire blog about what happened with my foundation so others who have similar problems may benefit. I will edit this haul and link it HERE for those who want to read it. Anyway, this primer is amazing, it feels so soft on my skin and helps to conceal my redness before I even put my foundation on. This primer is definitely my HG so far. It's completely helped to fix my foundation flaking up problem and it feels great. No burning, itching, etc.

5 out of 5 stars. The only sad thing is this primer is SOO expensive $52.00 for a small bottle. If you do want to try it though you can go into Sephora and ask for a sample, or you can purchase the travel size bottle for $18.00.

4. Jennifer Aniston Perfume

I received a sample of this in a previous mailing from Sephora and loved it way it smelled. Its a very fresh floral girly scent. Think California oceanside. Beautiful fragrance for spring/summer.

5. Dior -  Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm $27.00

This potted lip balm is especially expensive but it is such a wonderful rose slippery scent. The only reason you'd buy this is if you wanted a beautiful rose scented balm. It's not a must need balm, but it is a luxurious treat for when you need a pick me up. It goes on smooth, doesn't feel sticky and has a beautiful rose scent. Don't be afraid of the plumping description in the title. It isn't tingly on the lips or anything.

The rest of the purchases I haven't had a chance to test out and give a review of yet.. so I'm just going to list what else I got without a review.
